Duncan Noble B.Eng. (Hons) C.Eng. M.I.C.E.Director / Principal Design Engineer
Duncan founded Noble Works Ltd in 2007 to provide Clients with efficient
and effective temporary works design, with a high level of customer service.
Before 2007 Duncan spent 9 years in temporary works design with Birse
Construction, becoming a Chartered Member of the ICE in 2001 and rising
to Principal Design Engineer. After university Duncan worked on prestigious
projects with Laing Civil Engineering, such as The Second Severn Crossing
and Birmingham and Manchester Metro Schemes, managing temporary works
        on site.
Duncan has enjoyed providing a huge variety of temporary works design,
checking and training. He has built up 25 years of specialist experience
in all aspects of temporary works design from formwork and falsework to
crane foundations and excavation support. Duncan has particular expertise
in geotechnical design, pile installation and marine temporary works.
Duncan loves hills, particularly for walking, mountain biking and skiing,
but has noticed that they seem to be getting steeper with age.

John Norman B.Eng. (Hons) C.Eng. M.I.C.E.Principal Design Engineer
John joined Noble Works in 2015, a return to working with Duncan, after
spending the majority of his career at Birse Construction and latterly
Balfour Beatty. This included time on site as an Engineer/TW Coordinator
on bridges/treatment works (1990-1997) and many years in the temporary
works department culminating as Chief Engineer (Temporary Works) for Northern
England and Wales. This included providing sole design support/training
to Birse Rail for 2 years and a 2 year interlude at Steel Pile Installations
to further his penchant for sheet pile design, driving analysis and ground
        borne vibration assessment.
Over his career John has designed everything from formwork, underground
pipework, scaffolding through to large marine cofferdams, bespoke plant
bridges and specialist pile dollies. In his time at Birse he trained numerous
TW coordinators in procedures and design, and mentored/trained a great
number of Graduates seeking professional qualifications.
John is a keen trail runner, cyclist and skier with a particular focus
on the eating/drinking opportunities afforded by each activity.
